The Team

The Production Team are the biggest team on site. They are the epicentre to our operations. They are a hard-working and friendly team. They have a knack for ensuring products are made on time, put into the right fast lane for production processing and packing products to our customers specification.

The Role

You will be the heart of all the production processes at the site. Your key responsibility will be to ensure all areas of operations are compliant with customer service requirements and current Food Safety , Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation.

Your other responsibilities will include:

Leadership :
You will ensure your teams are trained sufficiently to meet the business requirements, but also using your management skills you will support and inspire their personal development, so successively they reach management level. You will lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of the company’s values and culture coaching teams in the implementation and training about the companies practices and procedures

Manufacturing Process Efficiency Increases:
You will be establishing and maintaining continuous improvement projects in departments for measuring necessary aspects of operational performance and development. You will monitor, measure and report on production issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats.

You will be ensuring costs are managed in line with expectations and where possible you will be brining costs down to improve profitability of the business. You will have a great impact on developing robust strategy for Troy Foods, moving towards operational excellence.

Managing change:
Challenge the status quo and lead the site to manufacturing brilliance

To lead the site safety team and develop a safety first culture. This would include GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to by all staff.

The Ideal Candidate:
You will have experience in the foods industry, preferably in fresh food or processing. You will ideally have been a Factory Manager or Production Manager previously, looking for the next step in their career.
You will have strong process orientation, logical thinker and analytical ability.
You should be able to demonstrate very good understanding of operational process and controls.

Hours of work

45 hours per week – averaged over 52 weeks, paid monthly (salaried position).
Will need to flexible to the needs of the business and will need to work days and nights.

Days / shift details

Shifts are dependent on the peaks and troughs of the business. Typically Monday to Friday, including bank holidays and some weekend work. 08:00-17:00 - if you're a clock watcher, this is not the role for you.

Pay details

Up to £negotiable annual salary .
Salaried Monthly
Half hour for lunch (paid)
Two 15 minute breaks paid.

Contract information

33 days holiday per year including bank holidays
3% pension after 3 months.
6 month probationary period
Contracts are an average of 45 hours per week over 52 weeks.
