Judges Choice at the National Family Business Awards

It is with immense pride and honour James and David announce that our trip to Wembley brought home the Yorkshire Bacon (or Coleslaw!) at the National Family Business Awards. We were nominated for the following awards:
- National Family business of the year.
- Regional Family Business of the year for the North East.
- Judges choice.
We are proud to announce we were successful in winning Regional Family Business of the Year for the North East and the Judges Choice. We are so proud of everyone in the business who helped achieve this massive accolade. Thank you goes to Andrew for the speech on behalf of the Kempley’s and thank you to the Kempley family who very kindly offered 10 Employees the opportunity to go to the awards to enjoy the evening’s ambience in their absence.
Well done to each and every one of you for creating the ‘family’ feel every day of the week. Thank you to all of you, every Production Operative, every Manager and every Senior Manager / Director who has been part of the Troy Journey and creating the business what it is today.
We are immensely proud of the hard work you all put in and the ethos this gives to people visiting our business. We have excelled in our business since its inception and more recently showed fantastic developments in innovation, creativity and leading the market. This award is a testament to the skills, commitment and vision of its people.
David Kempley writes ’I’d like to start by saying thank you to all those people who are part of my family business. What does it mean to be a true Trojan warrior? Pride now we have won this award. Pride and passion. Pride that we have been put on the map for family businesses up and down the country and passion for everything we stand for. Pride that we are proud to be part of the family business united network; no other time do I feel this is more important and poignant than now with the uncertainty of the world around us. In light of recent events, family is the one reliable source for us at Troy Foods. For our Trojan warriors, family means love. Family means passion and family means to work together and fight together for what you believe in for good. I would like to thank my Directors and Senior Managers, they, to me, are the senior family members, giving us inspiration and wisdom to grow for the younger generation. I would also like to thank every single Trojan warrior in our business, for if not for them, we would not be united in the one common goal that binds us all, Trojan success. Troy may be wild, wacky and relentless, but we are so proud today from when I created the vision for the new Troy 30 years ago, to now. This vision has gone beyond anything I expected. To everyone who is a part of my business, past, present and future, thank you’.
James Kempley, Commercial Director, Son of David Kempley writes ‘All the entries for the Family Business Awards had a vision years ago to be the best in the game. Here we are flying the flag, and regardless of winning, we are united. I am proud of every family achievement we have achieved together and the future prosperity that our family business holds. We will not be divided by extremism and we will welcome those who chose Troy and Britain and family into our business, like the remainder of the world should. I am proud to be associated and have people like you working for us. It means so much’. .
