I arrived from Poland in 2012 with limited English. Troy Foods recognised that I would be an asset to their team and I joined as a Production Operative. I am currently Senior Supervisor in Collation I have responsibility for making sure that products leave the factory in a first class condition ready for our customers. My colleagues have been really supportive with my wish to speak and write in English. Troy has helped me both in and out of work and I would recommend it as a place to work – especially if you are a fan of Leeds United as a lot of us are.
I joined Troy working in Production which gave me the opportunity to experience what it is like working in a busy factory. I then became The Account Manager for our agency. In this role I got know most new colleagues and could give them a realistic picture of what it was like working in factory environment. I was also proud to enable Troy to have the highest standard of new colleague as possible. Troy then invited me to move to the Quality Assurance team at our mayonnaise plant. Once again, I learnt new skills which is something I really enjoying doing. I have recently moved to the role of Production Administrator which involves planning the manning in the factory; ensuring training is completed; producing reports and undertaking numerous other tasks to aid the smooth running of the production teams. I am pleased to have had opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills and, in the future, want to develop further. If you are prepared to work hard, be flexible and prepared to learn Troy is the place for you. I am so glad that Troy foods and specially HR put all efforts to give me great opportunities to enhance my career growth.
I am in my 8th year at Troy Foods currently as a key operator running lines producing coleslaw and potato salad. I train new starters and like the teamwork in the factory. The people make the difference and there are great supervisors and managers.
I came to UK from Latvia in 2006 and joined Troy Foods in our vegetable factory in 2017. I am currently a supervisor in High Care but have worked in other parts of the factory. My role is very interesting as it involves managing teams, health & safety practices and all associated paperwork. The colleagues are friendly and its like being part of a family.
