At Troy Foods we have a dedicated New Product Development (NPD) team. The team are constantly benchmarking, matching, innovating and driving the customer agenda to ensure we are developing new product lines that are meeting our customer’s needs and expectations across retail, foodservice and manufacturing.
The team have vast experience in developing products for the market place across a range of food categories – From dressed salads such as coleslaw, potato salad and pasta salad to Mayonnaise, dips, dressings & relish, to also vegetable ready to cook meal accompaniments & prepared vegetables and beyond.
We would love the opportunity for any of our customers (current or potential) to visit our New Product Development kitchen and state of the art factories to see what we do and if you wish, take an active role in developing products together with our knowledgeable NPD team.
The NPD Technologist will support the development of new products to market for both own brand and branded customers.
Key responsibilities include;
To develop salad, mayonnaise and other products from concept, factory trials, nutrition and shelf life evaluation through to launch procedures. Includes associated specification and quality system maintenance.
To project manage own assigned customers and projects working closely with Technical, Commercial & Operations
To contribute to monthly NPD meeting with commercial and factory teams
To write development specifications and artwork sign off
To manage the monthly salad benchmarking and quarterly new product review. Feedback to the business updates with opportunities and developments within the sector
To support the investigation of process related issues, identifying issues and making recommendations
To support the team with new ingredient sourcing, coding and managing recipe files
To assist with customer NPD presentations
To drive own personal development through training and work-based experience and continuous improvement of food knowledge, research, lunches and development courses
You will be a recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in a food science, nutrition or general science related subject.
As a real foodie, you have a well developed palate and a passion for developing new and innovative products. Previous experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment is desirable through a placement or work experience.
