HR & Training Team

HR & Training are a wild, wacky, fun and no-nonsense bunch of people. The pride themselves on being a straightforward, solutions-driven, and passionate function. They do everything in the Employee life cycle, from recruitment through to termination and everything in-between. They are passionate about people, including our temporary workforce and are passionate about engaging with people to get the best results and performance for the business.

They are very direct, straight talking and love to get to know people. Fiercely protective of the business, its mission and its values the team strive for better performance in everything we do as a team. They also take care of the PR launches, Social Media campaigns and drive the strategy for the business.

They are heavily involved in our Corporate and Social Responsibility programmes and ensure we engage with charities that will allow us to make a difference to their overall campaigns. The team drive site-shared projects such as our charity of the year and our Continuous Improvement Team to develop the best investment in our local community and our impact on society.

Dannika Bennett

HR Advisor

Dannika joined the business in January 2016 as a HR Assistant. She was given the opportunity to progress after a position became available in the HR team for a HR Officer. She has worked extremely hard over the duration of the past 12 months and proven to the Head of HR & Training and the Directors of the business she has the knowledge, prowess and good decision making skills to execute investigations and manage the HR function in the absence of the Head of HR & Training. She was promoted to HR Advisor in July 2017 after being recognised for her hard work and dedication.

Dannika is straight talking, direct, hard working, organised and has extreme OCD about her desk being tidy. She has a passion for people and makes sound decisions on people matters.

She has recently passed her Level 5 CIPD qualification, is an Associate member of the CIPD, has a degree in Criminology and for such a short period of time in the HR industry, has a wealth of knowledge that the business can rely on.

Outside of work she loves the outdoors, crazy gym classes and tropical holidays!

Emily Huby

Learning & Development Officer

Emily joined in 2016 as a graduate HR Assistant and quickly displayed a flair for all things Training , Learning & Development. Having a psychology degree, this gives Emily the advantage to use her degree and integrate this into the training of the people within the organisation. She has developed a number of enhancements to our Learning & Development function, which has enhanced the workforce's skills and ambitions. She was promoted to Learning & Development Officer in July 2017, due to her development of the training function.

Taking an active interest int he development of people's skills, knowledge and succession plans, she has embarked on a multiple of projects throughout her very short time at Troy. She is the Project Manager of the Company's Million Makers and Charity Team and has been invested in to undertake her NEBOSH General Certificate, Train the Trainer, Level 4 Food Hygiene and has recently begun her studies for her level 5 Learning and Development Diploma with the CIPD.

Emily's rapier wit, rapping skills and 'Resting Bitch Face' are infamous and loves Greggs.

Agnieszka Bula-Krupa

Recruitment & Onboarding Officer

Agnes is our seasoned Recruitment & Onboarding Officer. She has a wealth of knowledge around recruitment, having worked in the Recruitment industry since 2008. She joined the business in October 2016, after being Head hunted by the Head of HR & Training. She has added a wealth of value to the business, savings hundreds of thousands of pounds in recruitment fee's (sorry Recruitment Agencies). She is busy, mad as a hatter, but gets the results the business needs.

She informs everyone every step of the way of their progress and gives open and honest feedback to every candidate. She works incredibly hard alongside our on-site agency to ensure the service delivery is of a high standard. She is the businesses Modern Slavery champion and is always eager to bend over backwards to ensure new recruits have settled into their roles well.

She lives in South Yorkshire with her Husband and her daughter and loves to go swimming. She is not a good cook and cannot sing (and Drive!).

Rebecca DeBono

HR Officer

Rebecca is the Britney of the HR team. She is gorgeous, intelligent and crazy. Joining the business in July 2016 as a Graduate, she has a Masters degree in Law and loves to try to apply all of this to her working environment. She is hard working, loves to talk, drink and socialise, she is the positive energy among the HR & Training Team. She works incredibly hard but is incredibly messy. She deals with Employee matters in a diligent and sympathetic manner and her passion is Employee Engagement and improving this. She has been recognised by the business for her hard work and has recently been promoted to HR Officer.

She is currently studying for her Level 5 Diploma in HR and aims to complete this next year. She has a Dog called Milo, loves all animals and is passionate about ensuring people are happy and productive.

Gemma Polanski

Head of HR & Training

Gemma is a direct, no-nonsense, pragmatic and cost-aware Manager of HR. She joined the business in 2011, whereby she did stand alone HR and has developed the function alongside the businesses growth throughout her tenure. Today, the HR team has 6 members to assist in the driving of the development of its people. Her team have taken on additional responsibilities such as PR, social media and driving the Troy Foods image in the public domain.

She is fiercely protective of her team and the business and is known as the 'urban Fox' for her rabid reputation. She loves to have fun, drive the people strategy of the business and is incredibly creative and solution oriented.

She lives with her partner who works in IT and their two rabid miniature sausage dogs.
